Sometimes unexpected things happen and you end up stranded on the side of the road. It's a good idea to prepare for these moments by keeping a roadside emergency kit in your car to help keep you safe until help arrives.

Here are a few key items that you should have in your car at all times:

  1. Cell phone: While you'll likely keep this on you and not in your car, it's important to have it with you and fully charged whenever you drive so you can call for help. Consider keeping a portable charger just in case.
  2. First-aid kit: This should have the basics such as bandages, aspirin, antiseptic ointment, and gauze pads as well as any items that are specific to you and your family's individual needs.
  3. Jumper cables: These should be ten feet or longer and should have at least eight-gauge rubber coating.
  4. Water and snacks: Always be prepared with drinking water and nonperishable snacks.
  5. Duct tape: You never know what you might need this for, but you'll be glad you have it when the need arises. Keep at least ten feet of it in your car.

If you're planning a long road trip, you can rely on our service center in Rockville, MD to make sure your car is good to go before you make the journey!
