If you have been on the lookout for a new luxury midsize SUV, you will no doubt have noticed that there are lots of options to choose from on the market. For many drivers, however, the choice ultimately comes down to two vehicles - the 2019 Audi Q7 and the 2019 Acura MDX. They both have a lot to offer, so this can be a pretty tricky decision. To make it a little easier for you, we decided to take a quick look at how the two vehicles compare in some critical areas:
Performance
If you want to get behind the wheel of an SUV with a lot of power under the hood, you really can't go wrong with either the Q7 or the MDX. However, if you want the best of the best, the Audi is the one to pick. When tested by Motor Trend, the Q7 was able to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in 5.4 seconds and complete a quarter mile in 14 seconds, reaching a top speed of 100.2 MPH. The Acura's figures were a little less impressive. It went from 0-60 MPH in 6.2 seconds and completed a quarter mile in 14.7 seconds, with a top speed of 94.6 MPH.
Safety
Staying safe on the road is always a top priority for drivers. Fortunately, both the 2019 Audi Q7 and the 2019 Acura MDX are more than capable of keeping everyone secure and protected. While making your purchasing decision, however, you should note that the Q7 includes some features that you can't find on the MDX, such as power child safety locks, a post-collision braking system, backup collision prevention brakes, and a night vision system. If any of these features are essential to you, the Audi is the vehicle to choose.
Reliability
When you buy a new vehicle, you expect it to run smoothly for many years to come. After all, you will rely on it to take you to work every morning. Though the Q7 and MDX are both well regarded when it comes to security, the statistics show that Audi is the superior of the two. Consumer Reports rates the reliability of the Q7 above that of the MDX - 26 points better, to be exact. J.D. Power and Associates show similar results. Their dependability rankings place Audi seven spots ahead of Acura, with 18 fewer problems per 100 vehicles.
